Pei Hua “Cynthia” Lin is a violinist, pianist, composer, and orchestrator for visual media from Taiwan. She started to learn piano when she was 4, and the violin became her major instrument when she entered music school at the age of 8 and began to play as a violinist in the orchestra. After she finished her bachelor majoring in Violin Performance in Taiwan, she found her another passion for scoring for motion pictures. In 2015, she was accepted into Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) and studied in the Film Scoring diploma program. In 2018, she was named the recipient of the Georges Delerue Memorial Award.
Cynthia has worked actively and developed an international multi-faceted in performance and recording career as a violinist and composer known for her distinctive voice, strong enthusiasm and artistic sensibility in the visual media. The films she scores screened at many theaters such as ArcLight Theater, Hollywood and the TCL Chinese Theater, the center of Hollywood. These films also won Best Thriller at Los Angeles Film Awards, Best Drama Shorts at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards and Best Drama at TopShorts Film Festival Awards and have been screening in several Film Festivals, such as LA Shorts International Film Festival, Beverly Hills International Film Festival, Independent Filmmaker Showcase L.A. Film Festival, Sunset Film Festival Los Angeles, New Filmmakers Los Angeles Official Selection, and Awareness Film Festival. Some of her most distinguished works include composer for short films Grandpa's Long March, Place We Won’t Walk, Bucket List, Leave No Trace, Paracusis, and Dance Film Codeswitch. Orchestrator and Sound Designer for album Four Divine States of Mind series (vol. I-IV) and Music Editor for albums Harmonic Egg Wellness series (vol. I-VI) and Frequency of Love. Cynthia is currently based in Los Angeles.
